On December 3, 2019, Xinhua news agency, Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, in accordance with the decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, removed Liang Yu from the position of ambassador of People's Republic of China to the multi-ethnic Bolivia, and appointed Liang Yu as ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of People's Republic of China to Republic of Peru.
