Tommy Dong, the host of Shenzhen TV station, took part in the work in 1996. He has been working hard in the front line of editing and hosting. In Dong Chao's opinion, the host should not be a superior speaker. He should have a broad knowledge background, professional skills and unique hosting style. Personal evaluation

Over the years, Dong Chao's work has gone far beyond that of a well-known host. As the most well-known public figure in Shenzhen, he is always duty bound to fulfill his public responsibility and stand up when he is in the most critical situation and needs. In the early morning of November 2005, in a hospital in Bao'an, Shenzhen, a patient with lung disease held a gun to hold a patient because he was dissatisfied with the service attitude of the hospital, and asked to see Dong Chao, the host of the first scene. After receiving the call from Shenzhen police, Dong Chao immediately rushed to the hospital alone and had a long-time communication with the patient. Finally, the patient's mood was obviously stable, and a hostage crisis endangering public safety was resolved. In September 2006, in Nanshan, Shenzhen, a 19-year-old girl with emotional frustration went to the roof of the 18th floor and tried to commit suicide. The rescue police and life-saving facilities were unable to work, and all the people at the scene were helpless. The rescue team sent an emergency notice to Dong Chao. After arriving at the scene, Dong Chao sincerely communicated with the woman through the iron window and patiently analyzed the problems she encountered. For many years, Dong Chao has been making use of his own advantages to tap public resources and serve the public. For example, the current social assistance system is not very sound. We need a public platform to arouse the social responsibility of enterprises and all sectors of society. Dong Chao spared no effort to do so. Under his active promotion, a caring enterprise in Shenzhen and "first scene" jointly set up the "sunshine relief fund", which invested 1 million yuan at one time as a caring fund to give back to the society and help the disadvantaged. In order to promote the in-depth development of Shenzhen's voluntary blood donation, Dong Chao not only personally participated in voluntary blood donation, but also led his colleagues to plan the theme activity of "Shenzhen loving family experience voluntary blood donation", and made a series of special reports for this caring cause of health protection. The public participated actively, and the social repercussions were huge. Dong Chao was also employed by Shenzhen Red Cross Society as the first volunteer of Shenzhen's voluntary blood donation Heart image ambassador.

In 2003, the first scene won the first prize of excellent broadcasting and hosting works of Guangdong Province. Dong Chao and "the first scene" have become the first brand of Shenzhen TV. He was successively awarded as the "top ten hosts" of Shenzhen radio and Television Group in 2004 and 2006, and the first excellent broadcaster host of Guangdong Radio and television in 2006.
