Zhang Shuo (1914-august 1944), formerly known as Zhang Chen, was born in pozhangzhuang, toutousi Township, Dezhou county (now Dezhou Economic Development Zone). I like reading when I was young. I went to the village primary school, Dezhou No.1 high school and Dezhou normal school. After graduation, I stayed in the primary school attached to normal school to teach. He constantly told the students the revolutionary truth, and was regarded as a leftist by the school authorities. In the spring of 1937, he was expelled by the school. After that, he and Wu Lianpeng went to Tianjin to set up private primary schools.

After the July 7th incident in 1937, the nation was in danger and his life was ruined. His heart was agitated and he no longer wanted to be a teacher.

In the spring of 1938, he returned to his hometown full of the desire to save the country. He joined the Anti Japanese national salvation army organized by Li Yushuang, an educator in De county. In October of the same year, the Eighth Route Army marched eastward into the Anti Japanese column and held a military and political school in Leling. During his study, he joined the Communist Party of China and stayed in school to work after graduation.

After 1940, he successively served as secretary of Anti Japanese democratic government of Pingyu County, deputy section chief of culture and Education Department of jilubian second special office, instructor of cadre training class and vice president of the special office.

In January 1943, he served as a member of the working committee of Dexian County of the Communist Party of China, head and chief of the Anti Japanese democratic government of Dexian county. Although he was raided twice by the enemy, his family fled and begged for food for a living, he still resolutely showed the grace and righteousness to treat the enemy. He attached great importance to the state affairs, united the Anti Japanese forces, correctly implemented the principle of flanging tactics of the superior party, adopted the strategy of enemy's invasion and self's invasion, and transferred the activity center of the county from the eastern rural areas to the rural areas near the six or seven districts of Dezhou City The ground. As a county magistrate, he influenced the masses around him with his exemplary actions. After he led the county brigade to live in a place, the masses often gathered some dry food and sent it to their comrades. The dry food they sent was various, and he always chose the worst one to eat. The masses sighed that the county heads of the Communist Party are different from the old ones.

On August 15, 1943, the Hebei Shandong border two prefectural committee sent him to Jinan to lead the "youth Anti Japanese Alliance" and carry out the underground work of the party in Jinan. Under the cover of a reporter from Jinan Branch of Qingdao new people's daily and a tax card employee, he changed his name to Wang Zhenya. He devoted himself to the work of the party, won over and United 20 or 30 activists who sympathized with the work of our party, and set up an underground secret organization such as "enemy work group" and "Luokou Liaison Station".

Heroic sacrifice

In August 1944, he was arrested for betraying his identity. It is invalid for the enemy to decoy and persuade him to surrender first and then to torture him severely. In order to strictly keep the party's secret, on the second night of arrest, while the jailer was not paying attention, he tore the quilt face into strips of cloth, twisted it into a rope, and hanged himself on the window. He was only 29 years old.
