Application for compensation

On June 1, 2020, Red Star News learned from Wu Chunhong that Wu Chunhong had been detained for 5611 days from November 20, 2004 when she was arrested and released from prison. In the near future, he will submit an application for state compensation and other materials to the higher people's Court of Henan Province, applying for state compensation totaling more than 18.72 million yuan.

According to the "application for state compensation" obtained by Red Star News reporter, Wu Chunhong requested Henan high court to pay more than 9.72 million yuan for personal freedom compensation, 5 million yuan for mental loss compensation, 2 million yuan for work delay and compensation, 2 million yuan for related medical expenses, and 2 million yuan for disability compensation (the specific amount will be calculated after the disability level identification). At the same time, Wu Chunhong asked the Henan high court to eliminate his influence, restore his reputation and apologize within the scope of Shangqiu City.

Compensation decision

The higher people's Court of Henan Province made a decision on state compensation for Wu Chunhong, with a total amount of 2625961 yuan, including 680000 yuan for mental damage; apologized to Wu Chunhong; and rejected other compensation claims of Wu Chunhong.

Compensation reconsideration

On August 6, 2020, Wu Chunhong's daughter, Wu Lili, told surging news that her family believed that the current compensation for mental damage made by the higher people's Court of Henan Province was too low and would apply for reconsideration. Lawyer Li Changqing told surging news that he would apply to the Supreme People's court for reconsideration within 30 days.

On August 13, 2020, accompanied by her family, Wu Chunhong submitted an application for reconsideration of state compensation to the Supreme People's court and applied for more than 18.72 million yuan of state compensation again.
