Icepaper, whose real name is Wei Ran, was born in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province on October 29, 1991. He is a male singer from the mainland of China and a member of Nanjing free out, a rap brand. He graduated from Nanjing Art Institute.

In 2014, he participated in the singing talent show "the voice of China Season 3" of Zhejiang satellite TV, and won the second place of Qiqin group and the top 8 in China, thus officially entering the performing arts circle. In 2015, he won the best new singer award of "new Fengcai entrepreneurship award ceremony". In 2016, he released his first personal music album "Wei Ran VR". After that, he started again with the stage name "icepaper" and developed in the field of rap music. In 2018, he released his second personal music album "food and sex". In 2019, he released his third personal music album "idiom Solitaire"; in the same year, icepaper's song "peace of mind" won the tmea Tencent music entertainment grand ceremony annual Top Ten Golden Melody Award.

Early experience

Icepaper was born in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province. He was influenced by his father since childhood and fell in love with music. When he was a child, icepaper would sing karaoke with his father. In the third grade, the first tape he bought was Jay Chou's album "van tersey", so he became fascinated with pop music. In 2010, icepaper won the first prize in the "Jiangsu Vocational School skills competition", and he was promoted to Nanjing Art College.

Acting experience

In 2014, he participated in Zhejiang satellite TV's singing talent show "the voice of China Season 3", and failed to get a mentor turn in the blind selection and resurrection competition. Later, he joined the Qiqin team with an English song "I believe I can fly" in the extra time competition, and finally won the second place in the Qiqin group and the top 8 in the country, thus officially entering the performing arts circle. On November 11, he participated in the "Chinese opera" with Wang Kaiqi and Liu Ke "The voice of the nation" double 11 love song special live show, and live singing song "love is doubt".

After that, he started again with the stage name "icepaper" and developed in the field of rap music. On November 1, 2018, he released his second personal music album "food and sex", which included 15 songs including "blue umbrella" and "under the yellow sand".

On January 29, 2019, the third personal music album "idiom Solitaire" was released, including 8 songs including "Silence", "peace of mind", etc.; on May 6, the personal single "Tibet" was released; in December, icepaper's song "peace of mind" won the tmea Tencent Music Entertainment grand ceremony annual Top 10 Golden Melody Award.

On June 9, 2020, he will release his fourth album "Hanshi".

Personal life

Icepaper's father is Wei Jianing, a national first-class actor, provincial inheritor of Huaihai opera, a national intangible cultural heritage, member of Jiangsu CPPCC, director of Jiangsu Drama Association, and vice chairman of Huai'an Drama Association. Icepaper graduated from Nanjing Art College in June 2015.
