Guo Minqing is a famous dulcimer player and educator. He was an associate professor of Shanghai Conservatory of music. He has been teaching and playing dulcimer for 30 years. From 1985 to 1986, he successfully held a special teaching concert in Beijing and Shanghai. Guo Minqing is active in the music world at home and abroad,
He has visited Yugoslavia, Japan, Belgium, Singapore, Taiwan and other countries and regions to perform and give lectures. From 1990 to 1992, he went to the United States twice to perform and give lectures. He also held a solo concert on dulcimer at the University of California, which was well received. In addition to teaching and playing, she has also compiled the repertoire for dulcimer. The solo "Tianshan Mountain in the festival" adapted by her has been widely used in concerts and competition repertoire at home and abroad, becoming one of the influential dulcimer works in the 1980s.
Together with Mr. Hong Shengmao, she has made contributions to the establishment of the dulcimer teaching system of Shanghai Conservatory of music and the reform of the 81 type twelve temperament dulcimer. She has twice won the "Teaching Excellence Award" and "Artistic Performance Excellence Award" awarded by the Conservatory of music.
