Zhang Zisheng

Zhang Zisheng, whose ancestral home is Tianjin, is a Guqin player and educator. He is the founder of the Guqin art center of Zhang Zisheng, a professional Guqin hall in China. His performance style is based on the Jiuyi school and Yushan school, and has formed the characteristics of beautiful performance, pure sound and the unity of heart and rhyme. An empirical study on compiling and creating professional teaching materials such as "the way to learn Guqin again", "the integration of Guqin fingering and notation", "the five step teaching method of Kaizhi", "the basic course of Guqin in primary and secondary schools" and "Chinese Musicology".

Personal profile

Zhang Zisheng, a famous guqin player, founded the zhangzisheng Guqin art center in 1999. Now he has set up branches in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan and other places, which has a far-reaching influence on the popularization of Guqin education. At the same time, he is also the main organization planner of various large-scale activities in the field of guqin, and the executive editor in chief of the national Guqin score making work.

At present, he is Secretary General of Guqin academic committee, Deputy Secretary General of Chinese National Instrumental Music Association, President of Tianjin Academy of Qin, honorary president of Hong Kong Association for cultural and artistic exchanges with foreign countries and deputy director of the Mainland Affairs Committee.

Artistic experience

In 1989, he studied in Tianjin Oriental amateur art institute. He started his career with Mr. Gao Zhongjun, an old zither player of Jiuyi school in Tianjin. Later, he studied with Mr. Li Yunzhong, Mr. Liu Li, Mr. Wu Wenguang, Mr. Gong Yi, Mr. Li Xiangting and many other famous zithers. On the basis of focusing on Jiuyi school and Yushan Wu school, he gradually formed a performance style with gorgeous meaning, pure sound, and focus on the combination of heart and rhyme.

In 1992, he won the highest award of "excellent performance award" in Hangzhou Guqin competition.

In 2002, together with Zhang Yuxin, a descendant of Guangling, the "Yao Tiansheng Crane" Guqin was developed and won the gold medal in the first national musical instrument production competition.

Wenwangcao (CD) won the Chinese Golden Melody Award for best folk music album of 2017.
