Jiang Chao: male, born in January 1965. He graduated from Physics Department of Peking University in 1986. At present, he is a researcher of national nanoscience research center. His main research direction is epitaxial growth and physical properties of low dimensional semiconductor nanostructures.
In 1989 and 1998, he received a master's degree in science and a doctor's degree in engineering from the Institute of physics and the Institute of semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively.
My major is semiconductor physics and materials.
Main research directions
Objective: To study the epitaxial growth and physical properties of low dimensional semiconductor nanostructures. from July 1998 to December 2005, he has been engaged in postdoctoral research in the quantum integrated electronics research center of Hokkaido University and the Institute of production technology of Tokyo University. At the end of 2005, he returned to China and joined the national nanoscience center as a researcher and doctoral supervisor. He was supported by the "100 Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. previous research experience and main achievements include: compound semiconductor molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) material growth and related device preparation. In particular, the epitaxial growth, physical and optical properties and transport properties related to GaSb based quantum dots are studied. By using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) method, the selective epitaxy growth of high quality ridge quantum wires with smooth atoms on non planar stripe patterned substrates and the related physical properties are studied. Won the third prize of China National Science and technology progress award. He has participated in many important international academic conferences, and has published more than 30 articles in International Sci-Tech Journals in recent years.
Research directions to be carried out
1. Research on growth characteristics of new compound semiconductor nanomaterials and structures 2. Research on new nano quantum structures and semiconductor heterojunction devices 3. Physical characterization of micro nano semiconductor structures 4. Research on emerging interdisciplinary science among physics, biology and chemistry
