He often educated his students against feudalism and superstition. In May 1912, he led the destruction of Linzi County Town God's Temple idol. At that time, the gentry made a big uproar and falsely accused them of deviance, which constituted a provincial case. Zhang Zhongli tried to get rid of the criticism and argued with reason. When Yuan Shikai was in power, he restored the rampant counter current and tried his best to flaunt the old ethics. One year's trial ended with a fine of 800 yuan for the crime of damaging other people's buildings. Neutral immediately replied: "we eat by science; we wear by science; we walk by science; everything depends on science. Mr. Feng is following a scientific road. What should he do? "Another day, he and Feng Yeyou saw a man burying his mother in a coffin, and they were very sad. Feng sighed, but Zhang Zhongli objected:" filial piety to parents should be done before they live, but after they die, they should try to be thrifty. ". It was winter. Entrusted by Feng Yuxiang, Zhang Zhongli and fan Mingshu set up 15 "memorial Wuxun primary schools" in rural areas within 30 li of Mount Tai. They exclusively accept poor children to attend school free of charge. Zhang Zhongli was appointed Vice President. In the spring of 1938, after the Japanese army occupied Tai'an, most of the teachers and students devoted themselves to the struggle of national liberation.
