The Peony Pavilion
in April 2004, the live version of Peony Pavilion for youth, which was designed by Bai Xianyong, was produced by the famous writer Bai Xianyong. The "Peony Pavilion for youth" Kunqu Opera, which was jointly created by artists from both sides of the Taiwan Straits and three places, began to tour the world and achieved great success. It aroused strong popularity at home and abroad, and made Kunqu Opera return to the public view and made contributions to the protection of Kunqu Opera. Shen Fengying was selected to play Du Liniang in the youth version of Peony Pavilion. This young actor belongs to the "little orchid" class of Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theater. He has excellent appearance and singing. He is a piece of jade with great potential, but it can't be made into a piece of jade. Therefore, the crew urged Wang Shiyu and Zhang Jiqing, the "Dan Jiao sacrifice wine" of Jiangsu Kunqu Opera Theater, to enter Suzhou and personally guide and pass on Give. This is also one of the purposes of making the youth version of Peony Pavilion. Through the rehearsal of a play, it completes the important work of inheriting from generation to generation. Kunqu Opera, a performing art that once dominated Chinese drama for 200 years and had a glorious history, has been in crisis of inheritance since the beginning of last century. In the early years of the Republic of China, Kunqu Opera almost disappeared on the Chinese stage. Thanks to the establishment of the "Kunqu school" in Suzhou, a group of outstanding performers of the "Zhuan" generation were trained, and later became the flag bearers of Kunqu Opera in the 20th century. Wang Shiyu and Zhang Jiqing are the successors of these "Zhuan" generation teachers. Wang Shiyu was taught by Zhou Chuanying, and Zhang Jiqing was taught by Yao Chuanxiang. Today, Yu Jiulin of the "little orchid" class is under Wang Shiyu's tutelage, while Shen Fengying is officially accepted as a disciple by Zhang Jiqing. In the sense of inheritance, they have inherited the performance style of the "biography" generation teacher Fu from generation to generation. This is the authentic, orthodox and decent style of Kunqu performing arts. Zhou Qin, executive deputy director of China Kunqu Research Center, consultant of youth version of Peony Pavilion, Professor of Suzhou University and doctoral supervisor, said: "the two leading characters of youth version of Peony Pavilion are very natural. It is more appropriate to deduce Du Liniang and Liu Mengmei, who are similar in age. Of course, they still need to be tempered. The heat is not very good. Being an actor is a gradual process. Their current performance is that passion is more than technology. After 50 to 100 performances, maybe technology is more than passion. These two are fish and bear paws. They still need to slowly understand the relationship between them. With their own consent, we hope that they will go to study drama for a master's degree, so as to help improve their cultural accomplishment. It's undeniable that the two actors are very beautiful. It turns out that they are very insightful. "

Fengying:
Yu Jiulin and I were classmates in the theater school, and later we went to the Kunqu opera theater together. Mr. Bai Xianyong asked us to work hard for one year. Mr. Wang Shiyu said that the image of you two actors is good, but the basic skills are not enough. They are so bad that they can't go on. As a result, Mr. Bai Xianyong and Mr. Wang Shiyu worked out a complete training plan to carry out systematic and intensive training for us, including physique, singing, performance and literature appreciation. Rehearsal starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. every day. It's common to work overtime at night. Later, Mr. Wang Shiyu invited the dance teacher to open the shoulders and the chest and waist in the way of ballet, so as to change our habit of containing the chest and being introverted. Because our age has passed the stage of development, and our bones have been formed, the training is not small, and sometimes the cry and scream sound at the training site. I still have a fresh memory of the devil training a year ago. It's hard to imagine if I can persist in this training again. At that time, I pulled my finger every day. Mr. Bai is very strict with us. He told me that when we meet Liu Mengmei for the first time, we should have the feeling of first love and love at first sight. You can't see Liu Mengmei staring at her eyes, but we must see her half shy. After hundreds of times, as soon as I relax, Mr. Bai immediately points out that he wants to come back. When I went to perform in Hong Kong in May this year, the climate changed greatly. Mr. Bai worried that Yu Jiulin and I had health problems, so he kept us in the hotel to drink ginseng soup.
Praise for the youth version of Peony Pavilion
this wonderful love story, from ancient times to the present, has been fascinating to all living beings. As soon as it appeared at that time, it immediately set off a whirlwind in the field of drama. ——"Peony Pavilion" on sina.com is a drama that can move people to tears, because of its sentimental love story and the beauty of Kunqu opera that has been forgotten for a long time. ——Southern weekend this is the greatest opera I have ever seen in my life. ——Marianne McDonald, a professor in the Department of drama at the University of California, has never been more "indulgent" than the three night love legend "Peony Pavilion". It's like experiencing such a strange journey. It's exciting and inexplicable, but I find myself in the familiar world. ——Esther brown, drama critic of the daily telegraph, UK, in essence, this is an extremely beautiful and strange scene. After watching the first scene, I feel deeply honored to see this play. Shen Fengying's Du Liniang performs "elegantly and exquisitely", and her daughter's spring dream makes people reverie. I didn't expect to be so moved. It's the emotional exchange on and off the stage, the gorgeous costumes, the shining music and the plot with the theme of rebirth that make me plan to go back to sadres wells to experience the underworld and return to the world. Bai Xianyong's new edition of the jade hairpin
The story of the jade hairpin, written by Gao Lian. He wrote the love and marriage story of Taoist Chen Miaochang and scholar pan bizheng. See "the history of women in ancient and modern times" and the Ming drama "the story of Zhang Yuhu's staying in the privet Temple by mistake". In the play, Chen Jiaolian, a young girl, was separated from her family when she went down to the south of the Jin army. She entered the privet temple in Jinling and became a Taoist. Pan bizheng, the nephew of the master, failed in the exam. After passing by nvzhenguan, Chen and Pan had a series of twists and turns, such as chatting with tea, picking piano and stealing poems, and finally joined forces. The author describes Chen Miaochang's complex psychology of passionate pursuit of love and shyness. "Farewell on the autumn river" is full of poetic flavor. Qintiao, Qiujiang, etc. have been preserved by various local operas, and have been performed well. Yu Jiulin and Shen Fengying, who are used to fighting in big battles, are obviously no longer as green as they were when they first performed the youth version of Peony Pavilion. Compared with grasping the opportunity and coming out of the woods at that time, the performance of jade hairpin has made these two plum artists who have attracted much attention in the field of Kunqu Opera Flower prize winners are under pressure. "How can a good actor have only one play?" Shen Fengying said that actors should rely on their own image to speak, "endless art" is the due requirement of young actors for themselves. Yu Jiulin seems to be under more pressure. He told reporters that "jade hairpin" is a typical Shengdan opera, which is different from the traditional Kunqu Opera in which Huadan is the main line. Xiaosheng's part in this opera is quite heavy. "The youth version of Peony Pavilion has tried to pay equal attention to both lines, but for most of the audience, it is still a story of women dying for love and living for love. This time, the scholar in the story of the jade hairpin has a very clear clue. Pan bizheng likes Chen Miaochang and takes the initiative to explore and pursue him. The performance is very enjoyable. " The success of the youth version of Peony Pavilion has something to do with the beautiful and youthful images of Yu Jiulin and Shen Fengying. The handsome Yu Jiulin is a scholar without make-up, while the Suzhou girl Shen Fengying is full of tenderness between her eyebrows and corners of her eyes, which means that she is usually chatting and quiet. The two actors are very close to the roles of Liu Mengmei and Du Liniang. Don't hide your true colors
