Introduction to Yangko (Yangko in Fenyang City)
Applicant: Fenyang City, Shanxi Province
Yangko, also known as "twist Yangko", is a representative folk dance form of Han nationality in China. It originated from the working life of transplanting rice seedlings and farming, and is also related to the hymns and songs sung in ancient times when offering sacrifices to the God of agriculture to pray for harvest and disaster. In the long-term development process, Yangko continues to absorb folk songs, folk martial arts, acrobatics, opera and other folk art form skills, and gradually develops from general singing to collective dance performance. Yangko is rich in movements, various in forms, lively, unrestrained and enthusiastic, which is loved by ordinary people. After the Qing Dynasty, it has been widely spread all over the country and has become a popular folk dance style.
Fenyang Yangko is a folk art popular in Fenyang City and Xiaoyi city of Shanxi Province, which is divided into Wenchang and Wuchang. Wenchang Yangko is mainly singing while Wuchang Yangko is mainly dancing. It originated from the court art of Tang Dynasty, and then came to Lijiazhuang of Fenyang with the descendants of Guo Ziyi, the king of Fenyang.
The actors of Yangko in Fenyang martial arts venue have unique shapes. The dance forms are evolved from martial arts movements and styles. The performance routines are rich and varied. The main routines are "opening battle", "two dragons coming out of the water", "snake peeling", "garlic braid", "single hook heart", "cross flower", "thirty-six hook", "two dragons leading" and so on. Flower stick players have basic skills such as "call stick", "bow horse power", "tiger power" and "evil tiger pounce on sheep"; small Gong players have basic skills such as "tiannu Sanhua", "stepping to lift Gong" and "Tiao braid chain"; waist drummers have basic skills such as "Phoenix spreads its wings" and "incense in the sky". The Yangko in Fenyang has a long history and rich local flavor, which has an important reference value in the study of farming culture in the Yellow River Basin and the custom of entertaining gods and worshiping gods in Fenyang area. At present, the Yangko in Fenyang is lack of successors, the skills are becoming more and more simplified, the performance team is shrinking, and the aging of personnel is serious, which needs to be rescued.
