Introduction to Dabie mountain folk songs
Applicant: Lu'an City, Anhui Province
In Lu'an area of Anhui Province, the Dabie Mountains are thousands of miles long and the Huaihe River runs through the area. The folk songs of the Dabie Mountains in Western Anhui Province are born from the mountains and passed down through the water. They have been passed down from generation to generation.
Dabie mountain folk music is closely related to the long history of Lu'an. It evolved from the tribal folk songs in ancient times. Its contents reflect the ancient social history, such as gaotao law enforcement, Dayu water control, the battle between Chu and Han, etc.; it reflects the modern revolution, labor and living conditions, such as the revolution of 1911, the red army uprising, etc.; it also reflects the life, production and development in the period of socialist construction The local conditions and customs of Lu'an in various historical periods are different, among which the traditional folk songs such as "earn neck red", "drive cattle slowly" and the revolutionary folk songs such as "osmanthus blossoms everywhere in August" and "send Lang Dang Red Army away" are the most influential.
Dabie mountain folk songs are mainly composed of folk songs, tea songs, Yangko, Paige, ditty and labor songs. The main melody is the rough and bold style of folk songs, supplemented by the lyric melodies of Huaihe River Valley ditty, Yangko and gate songs. The range of the basic modes of folk songs is wide, but the range of minor modes is not very wide. The melody of folk songs is changeable, mainly with passionate cries, supplemented by soothing tunes; while the rhythm of minor tunes changes little, and has a fixed pattern, which is relatively stable.
The development of Dabie mountain folk songs in Western Anhui has absorbed the artistic factors of other different forms of folk songs transmitted by water, and at the same time has its own folk song characteristics. It records some historical imprints of social development and the living conditions of local people through continuous singing in the past dynasties, which has a high value of social history and folk art research. Dabie mountain folk songs have a number of representative inheritors. At present, with the changes of society and the passage of time, most of the older generation of singers are no longer alive. Middle aged singers are busy making a living and rarely have singing activities. Even if some young people are willing to inherit Dabie mountain folk songs, they are often unable to learn because they can't find the first-hand information. In this situation, many excellent Dabieshan folk songs in West Anhui are on the verge of being lost and are in urgent need of rescue.
