Jinqiao percussion music in Wansheng District is a folk percussion music in Jinqiao Town, Wansheng District, Chongqing. It originated in the song and Yuan Dynasties and has a history of more than 700 years. Jinqiao now has more than 70 music classes and more than 800 musicians. In the long-term inheritance, Jinqiao percussion has formed the categories of festivity, production and life, funeral, folklore, etc., including [Huadeng], [daqupai], [chaopai], [Gongtang] and other Qupai, as well as Pinda, Diao Da, Sanda, Ganda, Jiada, Diao Sanda, Zhuye blowing, whistling, etc., with more than 1000 pieces.

Jinqiao blowing has the characteristics of wide range, high volume, strong strength, bright tone and strong penetration. The most remarkable characteristic skill is the "sound of horse wind" created by Liu Duoer in the Qing Dynasty. With the development of Liu Hanqing, Xiang Yiyun, Xiang Ziqin and Weng Qinghua for more than 200 years, the skill of "sound of horse wind" is becoming more and more mature. In the performance, the high sound of the suona is like the roar of the horse, and the sound of the drum "fighting" is like the sound of the horse's hooves. At the climax of the music, the roar of the horse resonates with the sound of the hooves, demonstrating the galloping momentum of thousands of horses, thus forming the famous "sound of the horse wind" school.

Jinqiao percussion has won many awards in the performance competitions of Sichuan Province and Chongqing city. Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Culture named Jinqiao town as the "hometown of percussion music", and Jinqiao percussion is one of the "top ten folk arts of Bayu".

At present, the accomplished percussion musicians in Jinqiao town are getting older and dying one after another. The number of young people participating in the percussion is decreasing, and some unique skills are difficult to inherit. Jielong percussion and Jinqiao percussion are in an endangered situation, and they are in urgent need of rescue and protection.
