Introduction to nuoruzi Festival:
Applicant: Tacheng District, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
Nuoruzi festival was formed before Kazakh believed in Islam and has been handed down to the present day. It is said that it has a history of thousands of years. Kazaks call the first month of a year "nuoruzi". January in the Kazakh calendar is March in the Gregorian calendar. March 21 or 22 in the Gregorian calendar is the vernal equinox. The day is equal to the night. Kazakhs regard this day as the beginning of a new year, which is called "nuoruzi Festival".
The traditional nuoruzi Festival lasts for two weeks. In order to bid farewell to the old and usher in the new, and herald a bumper harvest, every household should make "nuoruzi" rice with seven kinds of food, including wheat, millet, rice, meat, milk lumps, salt and water, and also eat smoked horse intestines and bacon stored for the winter. On this day, people go from one awul (pastoral village) to another, go from house to house, eat "nawuluzi" rice, sing "nawuluzi" song, hug each other, celebrate the new year, and offer the sheep's head left by slaughtering livestock in winter to the old people. The old man read a congratulatory speech (BATA), wishing "family peace, livestock full circle, rich milk".
During the festival, herdsmen gather together to carry out various recreational and sports activities in various forms, mainly divided into three categories: the first category belongs to the nature of entertainment performance, such as tielimai, singing, dancing, ayetes, singing epic, etc.; the second category belongs to the nature of sports exercise, such as horse racing, wrestling, girl chasing, carrying sheep, etc.; the third category belongs to the nature of sports exercise, such as horse racing, wrestling, girl chasing, carrying sheep, etc; The third category belongs to interesting game activities, such as tongue twister, riddle guessing, dream realization and so on.
Nuoruzi Festival is the reflection of Kazakh history and culture in spiritual life. It is the representation of historical culture and has the research value of cultural history and national history. With the aggravation of the process of modernization and the settlement of herdsmen, some of the original festival activities are difficult to maintain, and the traditional festival procedures and rituals are gradually lost. Some folk art forms (such as hesar, tielimai, kunerle, Dastan, etc.) are on the verge of being lost and need urgent rescue and protection.
