Shanxi Wu's orthopedic therapy is one of the traditional Chinese orthopedic therapy, originated in the late Qing Dynasty, has a hundred years of history. Founder Wu Gending (1886-1957) was 12 years old. When he was shepherding in baiyun temple, Qinshui County, Shanxi Province, he was taught by an old monk and learned bone setting technique and "saliva bone setting method". After the liberation of Gaoping in 1945, he was employed as a member of "Three District Medical Research Institute of Gaoping County". After his death in 1957, Wu Chengmou, the second-generation descendant, inherited his ancestry and founded the Department of orthopedics of Ma Village master village health center in June 1969 in Ma Village master village; established the bone setting hospital of Ma Village master village in January 1976; renamed the Wu's bone setting hospital of Gaoping City in March 1993; and opened the friendship street of Wu's bone setting hospital of Gaoping City in July 1994 by Wu Tianbao, the third-generation descendant In December 2000, it was renamed as "Gaoping wuchengmou orthopedic hospital".

After several generations of unremitting efforts and continuous development, Wu's orthopedics has formed its own unique orthopedic technology and academic expertise. The general principle of Wu's orthopedics is "one reduction, multiple correction, continuous traction and regular adjustment". It is characterized by "manipulative reduction, traction and small splint fixation; oral administration of three phases of Chinese medicine as a supplement; recovery of late function by massage and tendon soothing technique". Wu's heart formula of bonesetting technique: "the heart of touching should be accurate, the hand of pressing should be like a knife, the force of pulling should be proper, the hand of squeezing should be stable, the hand of turning should be loose (SMART), and the work of combining should be true." According to the specific situation of patients with bone injury, Wu's orthopedic manipulations include "question mark method", "lifting method", "neck and knee traction method", "sitting traction method" and "double thumb pressing method".
