Introduction to northern Shaanxi Folk Songs:
Applicant: Yulin City, Shaanxi Province
Northern Shaanxi folk songs are the general name of all kinds of folk songs popular on the Loess Plateau in Northern Shaanxi Province. As a product of the long-term integration of nomadic culture and farming culture in the history of Northern Shaanxi, Northern Shaanxi folk songs were formed earlier. For example, Xintianyou, a folk song, was born in the middle of the Zhou Dynasty and took shape steadily in the Han Dynasty, becoming one of the ancient forms of Chinese folk songs.
There are many kinds of folk songs in Northern Shaanxi, including Xintianyou, Shanqu, banshandiao, boatman Haozi, dayangge, hanchuanqu, Jiuqu, Errentai, Yulin ditty, Qingjian Daoqing, traditional ditty and many other folk songs, totaling more than 27000. Northern Shaanxi folk songs are directly produced in the daily production and life, and are closely related to the local people's voice, regional character, living environment, life emotion and so on. It is high pitched, rough, simple, frank and euphemistic, showing the unique regional style of the Loess Plateau. It is not only different from the folk songs in Guanzhong and Central Plains, but also different from the grassland folk songs. For example, Xintianyou, the representative variety of Northern Shaanxi folk songs, has a different musical form from other folk songs.
During the agrarian revolution, the war of resistance against Japan and the war of liberation, Northern Shaanxi folk songs played a very important role. Many northern Shaanxi revolutionary historical folk songs directly reflect the history of China's revolutionary struggle, and can be combined into a complete revolutionary epic. Northern Shaanxi folk songs have high artistic value and research value in folk culture, history and culture. Its representative repertoire "Dongfanghong", "Lanhuahua", "sanshilipu" and "zhuanling" have spread all over the country, and have been adapted and transplanted in a large number, occupying a certain position in the music history of new China.
At present, there is a fault phenomenon in the inheritance of Northern Shaanxi folk songs. The older generation of folk singers are declining, and the younger generation's cultural identity to this traditional form of music is weakening, which hinders the inheritance and development of Northern Shaanxi folk songs.
