Brief introduction of Tibetan Thangka (Miantang painting school)
Applicant: Tibet Autonomous Region
Mian Tang painting school is the most influential Tibetan Thangka painting school after the 15th century, which is mainly popular in the Wei Tibetan area. The founder of the school is mianla dunzhujiacuo, who was born in Miantang (now Shannan area) of Luozha, hence the name of Miantang school. Duozaxi, a painter in mianla dunzhujiacuo's Sakya area, studied hard and had high attainments in painting art. His statues paid more attention to the use of painting lines. They were neat and fluent, strict and varied, and their colors were lively and bright. At the same time, mianla dunzhujiacuo also compiled a painting theory monograph "statue painting Du Ruyi Bao" according to the sequel.
Miantang School of painting came into being and formed in Zanpu era, flourished from the middle of Pazhu era to the era of Gandan pozhang. It was a turning point from 1949 to 1966, and began to be neglected and silent after 1966. Although the local government has done a lot of rescue work after the 1980s, its painting skills are still in a state of unsustainable, so it is necessary to further strengthen the rescue efforts.
