Kaifeng City is located in the eastern plain of Henan Province. According to the records of menghualu in Tokyo, there were woodcut New Year pictures in Zhuxian Town, more than 20 kilometers south of Kaifeng in the Northern Song Dynasty. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, woodcut New Year pictures were very prosperous in Zhuxian Town, with more than 300 workshops at most. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, Zhuxian woodcut New Year pictures began to decline, and most of the workshops moved back to Kaifeng City, so Kaifeng became the production and sales center of Zhuxian woodcut New Year pictures, and some famous time-honored New Year pictures workshops such as "Tiancheng", "Yunji" and "Huichuan" appeared in the city.
