Huairen Wanghuo, commonly known as "fire dragon", also known as "big Wanghuo", is a popular folk activity in Huairen County of Shanxi Province during the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival. Huairen area is rich in coal resources. The Qing Dynasty has formed a folk custom of burning coal to pray for the Spring Festival. According to the records of Datong Prefecture by Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, "on New Year's day, the burning coal is placed on the door, like a small floating picture, which is called" flourishing fire. "

Its main form is to build a tower with large blocks of coal, which is called Wanghuo, to celebrate the prosperity of the whole year. Put firewood inside and stick a big red letter on the outside, with the words "vigorous Qi rushing to the sky" on it. When the prosperous fire is formed, the fire shoots out from innumerable small holes, which looks like a floating picture and is spectacular. Wanghuo has a large scale and exquisite shape, which is completed by masters with superb skills. Huairen Wanghuo is a relic of the combination of Nuo sacrifice and Shehuo performance, which has important folklore research value.
