A brief introduction to Jingzhou Miao people's song
Applicant: Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County, Hunan Province
Qieli, Jingzhou is located in the southwest of Hunan Province, along the border of Hunan and Guizhou provinces. There are nearly 20000 Miao people living in this area.
The Miao Nationality in Qieli has a long history. The Miao people in qideli are hardworking, simple, frank and uninhibited. They always have the cultural feelings and healthy attitude towards life. In the beautiful and fresh natural environment, the ancestors of Miao nationality, who work at sunrise and rest at sunset, imitate the harmony of nature, such as bird singing, cicada singing, water flow and Lin Tao, as well as the melody found in production, labor and hunting. After long-term selection and refinement, they have created a unique Miao nationality song. Song is not only an important carrier of the Miao people's living condition record, interpersonal emotional communication and national cultural heritage, but also an indispensable part of their daily life.
According to the style, melody, content, singing style and national customs, Jingzhou Miao songs can be divided into tea melody, wine melody, rice melody, mountain melody, Danshui melody and three tone melody. Most of the lyrics are seven words and four sentences, which involve historical legends, sacrificial rites, production and labor, marriage and love, persuasion, singing and so on. The rhythm and interval of its music are not only different from the Miao folk songs in other places, but also different from the Dong folk songs and the Han folk songs nearby, with distinct personality and characteristics. The singing takes a progressive form from low to high, from light to heavy, from less to most. Most of the singing starts with a single low voice part, and other voice parts enter one after another. Jingzhou Miao songs include folk songs, Danshui songs, tea songs and three songs. The singing language mainly uses the local Miao dialect (sour dialect). Their singing activities are often closely related to the Miao folk customs and integrated with each other.
With the development of transportation and communication in qiali area, the long-term relative isolation between the local Miao people and the outside world has been broken. The traditional cultural space for the survival and development of the Miao people's songs is shrinking rapidly. The important singers and singers are decreasing year by year. The local Miao people's interest in songs is becoming increasingly indifferent. There is no successor to the Miao people's songs and the traditional culture they represent.
