Introduction to changjiaquan
Applicant: Xingyang City, Henan Province
Changjiaquan is an important school of Chinese martial arts. It is a traditional form of martial arts practice in parallel with Shaolin and Taiji.
Chang naizhou (1724-1783), the founder of Chang family boxing, was a native of Chang family village in Sishui County, Henan Province (now under the jurisdiction of Xingyang) in the Qing Dynasty. He was born in a scholarly family. He wrote eight volumes of notes to the book of changes, which was included in Siku Quanshu. It's said that Chang was "a child addicted to martial arts" in Zhou Dynasty. He studied Yu's gun technique from Hu Lao Zhang Ba and Yu rang. Later, he was instructed by Yan Shengdao in Luoyang. He was taught by Liang Dao in Sichuan Province. He was well versed in the ups and downs of Yin and Yang. He integrated Yi theory, medical theory, and boxing theory. He integrated internal Qi, appearance, and techniques, and created Chang family boxing school for nearly 300 years.
Changjia boxing has the skill of practicing Qi. It has the skill of opening and closing vertically and horizontally. There are dozens of routines, such as fist, stick, sword, knife, gun, whip, sickle, and spring (bow). All of them are handed down in the form of picture books. There are pictures and comments, and the notes are detailed. The inheritors of Changjia boxing have clear and orderly inheritance. The theoretical data and boxing data have been handed down till now and are well preserved. It is of great significance to excavate and organize the traditional Wushu culture.
In addition to Xingyang, changjiaquan's successors spread all over Shanxi, Shaanxi, Fujian, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Anyang, Gongyi, Xinmi and other places. Changjiaquan also spread in the United States and other countries. In recent years, Chang family boxing successors and martial arts enthusiasts have come to Xingyang to seek their roots and exchange views. However, constrained by the rules of "not to show off in front of others" and "three no pass", Chang family boxing is becoming more and more lonely and endangered, and many boxing techniques are on the verge of being lost and need to be protected.
