Brief introduction of Buyi Nationality Leyu
Applicant: Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Guizhou Province
Leyu of Buyi Nationality is a kind of wooden double reed direct wind instrument, which is popular in Xingyi City of Qianxinan Prefecture and the Buyi inhabited areas along the coast of Nanbei Panjiang River in Guizhou Province. "Le you" is a Buyi translation, which means "the trumpet to signal the lover" or "the trumpet to wake the lover". This kind of musical instrument has existed since ancient times. According to a brief history of the Buyi people, "in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the Puan prefecture (now Xingyi City, Guizhou Province) began to play Buyi opera." Leyou was born after Buyi opera and has a history of more than 200 years. After the appearance of Leyu, it was absorbed by the Buyi Bayin sitting and singing class and became an important musical instrument.
The length of Leyou tube is about 40 cm, which is composed of five parts: resonant tube, tube body, copper hoop, core and insect whistle, with a-a1 range. The performance mainly adopts natural ventilation and circulation ventilation, with rich skills, sweet pronunciation, mellow and fluent artistic style, good at expression. The tune played by Le you is called Le you tune, which is often named as missing tune, Shoumei tune and langshao tune. It can be divided into two categories: one is instrumental music played by Le you, and the representative works are Shoumei tune; the other is vocal music performed with Le you tune, and the representative works are langshao tune and le you's missing. Leyou's performance only shows some rules at the beginning and the end, and other parts are relatively free. The player can play according to the fixed core sentences or performance motivation, and the same tune will change greatly every time he plays.
The performing art of Buyi Leyu is a unique folk music form created by the Buyi people in Panjiang River Basin in their long-term production and life. It embodies the Buyi people's life concept and artistic ability, and has important reference value in the study of musicology and folklore. At present, due to the impact of market economy and popular culture, the number of musicians in Leyou is decreasing day by day. This precious folk art has no successors and needs to be protected.
