Declaration area or unit: Molidawa Daur Autonomous Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
Wuqin is a kind of Daur music, also known as "WuChun", which means "folk narrative poetry". It is sung in Daur language and widely spread among the Daur people in Nenjiang River Basin. Wu Qin mostly expressed the content of production and labor, social life, resistance to oppression, education and admonishment, etc. a work is short in several paragraphs and long in hundreds of paragraphs. There is no fixed intonation in this minority music, but the singing style is rich and diverse, some low, some cheerful, some sad.
At first, the Daur uqin performed mostly as a Tukou singer, and later developed into an artist holding a "huachangsi" (four stringed piano) to play and sing by himself. Wuqin's rap is mainly based on rhyme, combining prose with rhyme. Its words and sentences have a fixed format, four sentences in a paragraph, alliteration, two sentences or four sentences in a rhyme. There is no lining word in the words and sentences, and the intonation is harmonious and full of rhythm. Wuqin has a lot of repertoire, including Kingdom wuqin, song of Yingying, dream of Red Mansions, thirteen sisters and journey to the west, four seasons reflecting production and labor, song of barracks reflecting social life, shaolang and Daifu showing resistance and oppression.
Wuqin is the remains of the ancient folk rap art of Daur nationality, which has important social, historical and artistic research value.
