Applicant: Dingtao County, Shandong Province
Erjiaxian, also known as "liangjiaxian", is a kind of local opera with a long history. It is widely popular in the four provinces of Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan and Anhui. It has a history of more than 300 years since the four strings of Sihu, the main accompaniment instrument, were played with two horsetails attached to the bow.

Later, with the development and creation of artists of past dynasties, it gradually formed today's erjiaxian on the basis of "Huagu Dingxiang", "big Wuyin" and "four strings". The singing music of erjiaxian belongs to the system of "Xiansuo tune" which combines banqiang style and Qupai style.
