Introduction to Liaoning drum music
Applicant: Liaoning Province
Liaoning drum music has been very popular since ancient times and had a profound impact on the northeast. In the murals unearthed from the Han and Wei tombs in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province, there is an ancient picture of drumming performance, and it has the six characters of "drumming performance" in it.
In the early period of Liaoning's drum music, it was Sheng and pipe music, and Suona music was added in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the middle of Qing Dynasty, the band was shaped and tended to mature. From the repertoire point of view, it retains a small number of Tang and song tunes, most of which are yuan, Ming and southern tunes and Ming and Qing tunes; from the structure point of view, the style of drum music is very strict, each kind of music has a certain structure mode, and the number of boards is very strict. In particular, the Han and Dabai songs have obvious structural traces of Daqu in Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty. From the tone of some music, Liaoning drum music is obviously influenced by the music of northern minorities (such as Qidan and Nuzhen). In terms of melody, "thirty five Tunes" in Liaoning drum music originated from "changing the tune by changing the palace" in Tang and Song Dynasties, which is the remainder of "twenty eight tunes of Yanyue". In addition, the seven appellations of Suona in Liaoning drum music provide important clues for the study of the evolution of Suona form.
Liaoning drum music has produced a number of highly skilled inheritors, such as Wang Wenzhou, Wang Guoqing, Wang Guoquan, Liu Yongnian, Liu Yongqing, Liu Baoshan, etc. they not only teach apprentices locally, but also spread their skills to other places, thus promoting the universal inheritance of folk drum music in Liaoning and even the three northeast provinces. The commonly used repertoire are gongchishang, meihuadiao, shangcaiqu, gougoushuang and guizhihua.
At present, Liaoning drum music is still popular, but the traditional repertoire has been gradually reduced, especially the big brand music and Han music. There are few people who can play them completely. There is an embarrassing situation that the drum music activities are prosperous but the traditional music is endangered, which needs to be protected by the relevant parties.
