In 1984, Guanyinshan was built into a town; in 2001, Guanyinshan town was transferred from Tongzhou city to Chongchuan District of Nantong City; in April 2009, Guanyinshan town was withdrawn to build a street; in March 2012, Nantong municipal Party committee and government issued "opinions on speeding up the construction of central city according to the requirements of the economic center of the Northern Yangtze River Delta", which made the decision to speed up the development and construction of Guanyinshan new city and other five key areas; in 2012, Guanyinshan new city was built On November 5, 2005, Guanyinshan new town was officially inaugurated. Location traffic

Tongfu Road, Taiping Road and Shilun road connect Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone in the South and Xingren town in Tongzhou District in the north. Xingdong airport is less than 3km away from the town. Sutong bridge approach directly leads to Guanyinshan.
