At the end of 2008, it covers an area of 11.2 square kilometers and has a population of 23708. It governs three communities, namely pingshankou, gushanbei and Meier, and five administrative villages, namely Jiuli, Gushan, Litun, Tianqi and Liulou. The office is located in Gushan village. In 2010, Jiuli street of Jiuli district and Shidong village of Pangzhuang street were put under the jurisdiction of Gulou District of Xuzhou City.
