Qiting Street

Qiting street is located in the northeast of Yixing City, Jiangsu Province. It is adjacent to Fangqiao street in the East, Yicheng street and Xinzhuang street in the south, Gaocheng town in the West and Heqiao town in the north. It covers an area of 75 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 51311 (2010). The sub district office is located in Junma Road, 9 kilometers northeast of the municipal government. Introduction to history

In 2006, Qiting town was abolished and Qiting sub district office was set up in its original jurisdiction. The office manages one neighborhood committee and seven village committees. In 2007, seven village committees including Huawei, Dongmei, Xingli, Wenzhuang, Fucun, Dongjiao and bianzhuang of Yicheng street were put under the management of Qiting street. The street, formerly known as Qiting town (also known as Jiting), is named after the ancient Post Road Pavilion, which is located in the west of Qixi. Qiting town was set up from 1911 to 1949 (later changed to township). Qiting commune was established in 1959. It was restored to township in October 1983. In 1996, Qiting town was set up from township. On March 29, 2005, the municipal government's reply on agreeing to adjust the six village committee areas including qianting village of Qiting town (yizhengfa No. 73) agreed to the following adjustments: 1. Qianting village committee and Mandu village committee were merged, and the merged name was qianting village committee. 2、 Qianhong village committee and Jingtang village committee are merged, and the merged name is Qianhong village committee. 3、 Qiting village committee and Erlu village committee were merged and named Qiting village committee after the merger. The town governs nine villages, including qianting, Siqian, Sidong, Shengtian, Qiting, Shaoshu, shaotan, houting and Qianhong, and santing community. On March 15, 2006, the municipal government's reply on agreeing to adjust the four villagers' committee areas including Qiting village in Qiting town (yizhengfa No. 54) agreed to the following adjustments: 1. Qiting village committee and Shaoshu village committee were merged, and the merged name was Qiting village committee. 2、 Houting village committee and former Red Village Committee are merged, and the name of the merged village committee is houting village committee.

Qiting (also known as Jiting) is the name of the ancient Post Road Pavilion, which is named because it is located in the west of Qixi. cultural environment

Qiting is the hometown of famous painter Xu Beihong, who was born here in 1895. He studied painting at Sinian University in 1914, studied in Japan in 1917 and joined the National Academy of Fine Arts in Paris in 1923. He is good at Chinese painting, oil painting and sketch. He was a professor of Art Department of Nanjing Central University, Dean and professor of Central Academy of fine arts, and chairman of China Artists Association. He has published many monographs, such as sketch collection and Xu Beihong's painting collection. Xu Beihong's former residence is located on the west side of Qiting qiaotang river. It is a three Bay loft house with brick and wood structure, covering an area of 518 square meters and a building area of 115 square meters. The former residence includes Xu Beihong's original living room, sister's living room, Xu's father's study and a patio. After reconstruction in 2000, it has been officially opened to the public, attracting a large number of tourists. Qiting primary school was founded in 1912 and renamed "Beihong Experimental Primary School" after 2005. It is famous for cultivating students' interest and specialty. The students have won many awards in the provincial and municipal competitions. The current president is Ms. Pei Shifang. Beihong experimental primary school is located on the Bank of the Lihe River. There is a saying in the school song that "Tao Tao Li Shui Chang". After many times of expansion and merger, the current scale has been formed. The school covers an area of 17964 square meters, with a building area of 7900 square meters.
