Fuli town
Fuli town belongs to Yongqiao District, Suzhou City, Anhui Province. It is located 13 kilometers north of Suzhou City, between Suzhou, Huaibei, Anhui Province and Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. Fuli town covers an area of 140.11 square kilometers, with 76000 mu of arable land and 95378 permanent residents (2017). In 2013, the total social production value of the town was 6.2 billion yuan.
Fuli town is the hometown of roast chicken in China and an important town in Northern Anhui Province. Its main specialty is Fuliji roast chicken. Its main scenic spots include Huanghua cave, BaiJuyi Donglin thatched cottage, etc.
In October 2019, Fuli town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
Evolution of organizational system
Fuli town has a history of more than 2000 years since it was named for the fact that there is Fu grass in Lishan in the north. Fuli was founded in Zhou Dynasty and belonged to Chu state in Warring States period. After Qin Shihuang unified the six states, he carried out the system of prefectures and counties. Han belongs to Pei county of Pei state. Wang Mang's new policy changed the place name, changed fuli to conform, and the Three Kingdoms belonged to Qiaojun. In the sixth year of Wuding in the Eastern Wei Dynasty (S48 AD), suinan county was set up in Fuli, with two counties of Linghu city and Xinfeng. In the seventh year of Tianbao (556 A.D.) of the Northern Qi Dynasty, suinan county was originally ruled by Fuli, later moved to Hucheng, and later still moved to Fuli. After Nanliang recovered Fu Li, it was changed to Suizhou. Fuli County in Sui Dynasty belongs to Pengcheng county. Fuli County in Tang Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Xuzhou, Henan Province. In 809 ad, Fuli and Qi counties in Xuzhou were designated, and Hong County in Sizhou was built as Suzhou. In Song Dynasty, Fuli county was under the jurisdiction of Suzhou, Huainan East Road. In the early Yuan Dynasty (1265 AD), Fuli, Qi and Linhuan counties were abolished and merged into Suzhou. From then on, Fuli county was demoted to the county of Ji, which was called Fuli Ji in Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China. In 1938, the Japanese puppet government established Fuli special region, which belonged to Huaihai Province in 1942. Fuli district was established in early 1949, and Fuli people's commune was established on September 25, 1958. On August 15, 1961, the Fu Li area was restored. In May 1965, Fuli town was upgraded to a county level town. In January 1980, Fuli commune was abolished and Fuli district was established. In 1984, Fuli district and Fuli town merged to form a new sub County town, Fuli town.

In January 1980, Fuli District governed seven people's communes, including Lingsi, Chuzhuang, Dingji, Huangshan, laofuli, Shili and mei'an. In 1984, Fuli district and Fuli town merged to form a new deputy county-level Fuli Town, which has jurisdiction over Lingsi, Chuzhuang, Dingji, Huangshan, laofuli, Shili and mei'an townships. In February 1992, the whole province unified the withdrawal of districts and townships, and abolished seven township and town offices of Lingsi, Chuzhuang, laofuli, Dingji, Huangshan, Shili and mei'an, which were subordinate to Fuli.
