Chongan Temple Street was established in 1955, and Jiefang North Road street was established. The street is named after Chongan temple in Wuxi City. It is located in the center of Wuxi City, the most prosperous central business district in the city, and also the seat of Liangxi district government.
Chongan Temple Street is bounded by Jiefang Ring Road, connected with Tongjiang street in the north, nanchansi street in the East and south, yinglongqiao street and Huishan street in the west, with a total area of 2.5 square kilometers. The former administrative district was the seat of Wuxi County. It got its name from Chongan temple. Chongan Temple Street was established in 1955, Chongan Temple commune was established in 1958, and Chongan Temple Street was restored in 1961. In 1967, it was renamed fangxiu street. In 1978, it was renamed Chongan Temple Street. In 1992, Fuxing Road Street (formerly Jiefang North Road Street established in 1955) was abolished and merged into Chongan Temple Street. In 1996, with an area of 0.8 square kilometers and a population of 24000, it has jurisdiction over 12 neighborhood committees, including DALOU lane, Gongyuan Road, Xianqian street, baishuidang street, shawenjing street, East Street, West Street, Lianyuan street, Fuxing lane, Dacheng lane, xihetou street and Daochang lane; Xueqian street and Renmin Road.
In 2004, Xueqian street and Renmin Road street were abolished and merged into Chongan Temple Street.
