Malu Town
Malu town is subordinate to Jiading District of Shanghai. It is located in the northwest suburb of Shanghai and the central area of Jiading District. It borders Baoshan District in the East, Shanghai International Automobile City (Anting town) and F1 international circuit in the west, Nanxiang Town in the south, Jiading town and Xincheng Road in the North.
Malu Town, a subtropical climate, is the prevailing area of East Asian monsoon. Located in the coastal plain of the Yangtze River delta front estuary, the landform belongs to the dished bottom of Taihu Lake Basin. The terrain is low and flat, with an altitude of 3.5-4.5m.
In 2014, the town of Ma Lu controlled 12 villages, 6 communities and 1 parks, 52428 registered residence and 213866 permanent residents. It covers an area of 57.16 square kilometers (2017).
In 2014, the added value reached 16.378 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5% compared with 2013, and the proportion of tertiary industry increased to 30.7%. The total tax revenue of the whole year was 6.57 billion yuan, an increase of 12.9% over 2013. In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed.
Historical evolution
In 1218, the tenth year of Jiading of ningzong in the Southern Song Dynasty, Chunshen and other five townships were set up from the east of Kunshan county. The name of the county is Jiading, which belongs to Pingjiang Prefecture. Today's Malu area belongs to Chunshen township of Jiading County at that time. The next year, Chunshen township was renamed Shouxin township. In 1671, Zhao Xin, the magistrate of Jiading County, set up a porridge factory in four townships to provide porridge to the victims. Later, the factory was used to manage local administrative affairs on behalf of the township, hence the name of "Malu factory". In the first year of Xuantong (1909), the factory was changed to township. After liberation, Malu district was established in 1949 and renamed Township in 1957. In January 1958, with the approval of the State Council, Jiading County was transferred from Jiangsu Province to Shanghai City, and Malu then became the jurisdiction of Shanghai city. In September 1958, the people's commune of Malu was established to integrate government and society. In May 1959, Malu commune was divided into three people's communes: Malu commune, Chengdong commune and Chengxi commune. In 1980, Malu commune was named Shanghai Osaka friendship people's commune. In 1983, Malu township was established, and Shanghai Osaka friendship people's commune was renamed Shanghai Osaka friendship township. In 1993, the township was withdrawn to build a town and Malu town was established. The friendly town of Osaka in Shanghai was renamed as the friendly town of Osaka in Shanghai. In July 2001, Jianbang town was merged into Malu town.

In 1930, xiaohongmiao township was divided into four townships: Jianbang, Songlin, Wanshan and Caoan. In 1946, the four townships were called Jianbang township. In October 1949, Jianbang township was divided into Xinjian, changbang, Jianbang and Yangcun, belonging to Malu district. In August 1954, Malu district was abolished, and four townships, Xinjian, changbang, Jianbang and Yangcun, belonged to Xuhang district. In February 1989, the preparatory group for residents' community of Jianbang township was established. In 1990, the people's Government of Jianbang Township administered 18 administrative villages and 146 villager groups. In 1993, the township was removed and the town was built. There are 18 villages, 134 villager groups and 1 resident community in the town. The 18 villages are: cangchang village, Zhaojia village, Yangjia village, Zhoujia village, Chengdong village, Gaoqiao village, Lixin village, Chengqiao village, Xuwang village, Wanglou village, Liucun village, ZhangGu village, Xiaohong village, Hengshi village, Dongchen village, Jianbang village, Chenjia village and Shuishui village. One residential community is Jianbang residential community. after October 1995, there are still 15 administrative villages and 1 residential community in the town. On July 3, 2000, Yangjia village was merged with Zhoujia village, which was called Xinlian village; cangchang village was merged with Zhaojia village, which was called cangchang village. On September 1, Xiaohong village merged with Dahong village, called Dahong village; Dongchen village merged with Jianbang village, called Jianbang village; Wanglou village merged with Xuwang village, called Xinxiang village; Lixin village merged with Chenjia village, called Lixin village; Liucun village merged with ZhangGu village, called Dayu village. The aquatic products village was merged into the residents' community of Jianbang town. In July 2001, there were 7 villager communities, 135 villager groups, 1 resident community and 26 resident groups in Jianbang town.
