Tokyo Town, belonging to Ning'an City, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the middle of Ning'an city. It is connected with Shiyan town in the East, Mahe Township in the south, Bohai town in the West and Sanling Township across Mudanjiang River in the north. The town government is located in the west side of Tongxiang road in zhongmahe village. The area is 175.83 square kilometers.
In 2018, the registered residence population in Tokyo was 34424. As of October 2019, Tokyo town has three communities and 15 administrative villages.

Historical evolution
In Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Huhan city of Bohai State.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was called dongdawazi.
In the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), it belonged to Bohai Bao of Ning'an county.
In July 1935, eight streets were set up, belonging to the Tokyo City office.
In 1939, it was renamed Tokyo city street.
In 1945, it belonged to the third district of Ning'an county.
In the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), it was changed into a residential area, belonging to the third autonomous region of Ning'an county.
In 1954, it was changed into Shihuan town.
In April 1955, it belongs to Shihuan town.
In November 1956, it was renamed Tokyo town.
In September 1958, it was changed into Tokyo town commune.
In January 1961, it was divided into Tokyo City commune, Mahe commune and Bohai commune.
In the autumn of 1965, Tokyo City commune was abolished and divided into zhongmahe commune, Chengdong commune and Xinghua commune.
In September 1970, zhongmahe town commune was renamed Tokyo town commune.
In September 1980, it was changed to Tokyo town.

By the end of 2011, Tokyo town had jurisdiction over Tiedong, Jianyuan and Heping communities and 15 administrative villages, including Xing'an, Guangming, Fenghuo, dahuangdi, Tokyo, Yujia, Tangfang, hada, Hongxing, Niuchang, xiayinzi, xiamahe, Dongkang, Zhenxing and zhongmahe. There were 16 resident groups, 71 villager groups and a total of 21 natural villages.
