Yushan Town
Yushan Town, subordinate to Fuding City, Ningde City, Fujian Province, China, is located in the southeast sea area of Fuding City. In the south, it is close to Sansha port, a fishing port open to Taiwan trade, 3.56 nautical miles away from Sansha ancient town port. In the west, it faces Taimushan town across the sea, and in the north, it faces Shacheng port across the sea. The total land area is 26.83 square kilometers. At the end of 2018, 5097 people registered residence in the town of Yu Shan.
In ancient times, Yushan Town got its name from the shape of Dayu mountain in the shape of a Yu, which was homonymous with "Yu" and "Yu". Later it was called Yushan, also known as Yaoshan. In October 1962, it was restored to Qinyu District of Fuding county and Yushan commune was established. In August 1982, Yushan commune was changed into district. Jianyushan Town, November 1992. Historical evolution
Before Fuding county was established, Yushan belonged to zhuoxiuli, Quanru Township, Xiapu County, Funing Prefecture. After the establishment of the county, the island to the north of Dayu mountain is under the jurisdiction of Fuding County, while the island to the south of Xiaoyu mountain is still under the jurisdiction of Xiapu County.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), the boundary between Xiapu and Fuding county was redrawn, and the Yushan islands were all under the jurisdiction of Fuding county.
In May 1940, the Japanese captured Yushan island.
In the summer of 1945, Yushan island was restored and incorporated into Xiamen Township, Fuding County; in the summer of the next year, Yushan township was restored.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Yushan was still under the jurisdiction of Fuding county (Yushan was liberated on October 7, 1949).
In January 1955, Yushan islands were under the jurisdiction of Xiapu County.
In October 1962, it was restored to Qinyu District of Fuding county and Yushan commune was established.
In August 1982, Yushan commune was changed into district.

Yushan Town is composed of 11 islands and reefs, including Dayushan, XiaoYushan and Yuanyang island. It is called Fuyao archipelago. Its main island, Dayushan Island, covers an area of 21.2 square kilometers, accounting for 82.7% of the total area. Yushan island is a coastal island with low mountains and hills. The terrain is high in southwest, northeast and Southeast, and gradually inclines to the central Tianhu lake and the north. The highest peak is Hongji Dongshan mountain, with an altitude of 541.4 meters. Mountain, lake, grass and sea are concentrated here. The scenery is unique and beautiful. Due to the influence of terrain conditions in Yushan Town, the shallow stream source is short, most of which are seasonal rivers, and the surface runoff is mainly rainfall. On top of the summit are three natural lakes, namely big and small Tianhu, jiuzhugongcao (heart lake), which are formed by underground springs. The total water storage is 1.56 million cubic meters, and the fresh water resources are relatively rich. Yushan island sea area belongs to regular semidiurnal tide, the flow velocity in the bay area reaches 1-4 knots, and the flow direction is anticlockwise gyration.

The main natural disasters in Yushan Town include typhoon, sea tide, geological disasters, etc. Typhoon disasters mainly occurred in July to November, August to September is the high incidence area, the most serious one occurred in August 10, 2006 "Sangmei" super typhoon. According to incomplete statistics, 686 houses of 125 households collapsed and 844 houses of 310 households were damaged.
