Tiantou town

Tian tou Town, Ningdu Town, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southern part of Ningdu county. It was established in 2001, with an area of 66.06 square kilometers, with a registered residence of about 41 thousand and 800 people (2018). It has 1 communities and 15 administrative villages (2019). Ningdu Hakka opera, Drum Song and makeup ancient history are popular among Hakka folk customs, forming five main industries, such as grass, seed production, fry, yellow chicken and fruit industry. It has become the largest "hometown of straw mat" in Jiangxi Province and one of the eight bases of rice hybrid seed production in China.

In 2018, there were 26 industrial enterprises in Tiantou town and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

On the eve of the founding of new China, it belongs to Yuntian township.

In 1950, it belonged to Tiantou, Nanxin and other townships.

In 1958, it belonged to Changsheng commune.

In 1961, Tiantou commune was established.

In June 1984, it was changed to Tiantou township.

On October 20, 2001, it was changed to Tiantou town.

In 1997, Tiantou Township governed 15 administrative villages including Tiantou, Dutou, Huangfang, Pingshang, pipa, cuntou, Nanbi, sunwudi, bianxie, nanjiangbei, Chetou, Baisha, Huangshan, Songshan and Jingtou. The township government was stationed in tiantouwei.

In 2019, Tiantou town governs one community and 15 administrative villages: Tianxing community, Tiantou village, bianxie village, Nanbi village, Huangshan Village, Pingshang village, Dutou village, Huangfang village, Jiangbei Village, Chetou village, Baisha village, Pipa village, Sunwu village, cuntou village, Jingtou village and Songshan village.

The total number of straw mats processing machinery reaches more than 800 sets, with an annual output of 8 million straw mats and a total output value of 56 million yuan. It has established a special base for hybrid rice seed production of 5000 mu, with an annual output of 3 million jin of high-quality rice seeds and an output value of 6 million yuan, becoming one of the eight bases for hybrid rice seed production in China. Fry, yellow chicken, fruit and other industries have their own characteristics, forming a large scale. At the same time, we should strengthen support services, and actively cultivate and develop mushroom, tobacco, bamboo mat, labor-intensive processing and other emerging industries. In addition, Tiantou has formed six professional markets, including straw mat, fish fry, beef, grain, waste material recycling and processing, and down purchase.

In 2017, Tiantou town combined the construction of high standard farmland with the development of efficient farming industry, and developed 700 mu of paddy field shrimp farming in Pingshang village and Baisha village of Tiantou town in the high standard farmland project area. It also combines the construction of high standard farmland with the promotion of leisure agriculture in Pipa village and Dutou village of Tiantou town.

History and culture

Hakka customs

Tiantou town is a famous Hakka "xiwozi" and "xiaoliyuan". In the first month of every year, Ningdu Tea Picking Opera, guziqu, make-up history and so on can make this place noisy for a month. During the leisure season and weddings and funerals, local old timers always invite the master of guziqu to sing "hall meeting".

Ningdu, as an early cradle of Hakka, has a strong historical and cultural precipitation. Every year on the 15th of the first lunar month, the villagers in Tiantou town hold Folk Lantern Festival activities. "Taigu event" has been popular for more than 480 years, because the content of the costume is historical events and folklore. The small wooden sedan chair is only made of base and frame. When it is used, it is decorated with colorful silk, paper flowers, gold and silver jewelry. The children sitting inside are dressed as story characters. The streets and villages that the team passed by were full of whips. The original Hakka folk activities attracted photography lovers from all over the country.

Genealogical culture

In 1984, it was found from the genealogy of sun's family in Sunwu village, Tiantou that Sun Yat Sen's ancestor Tang Dongping, Hou SunLi, had moved here. After the expert's argument and approval, Xinhua News Agency hereby broadcast the news that the name of Sun Yat Sen's hometown spread like wildfire, making a sensation at home and abroad.
