Baoxing town
Baoxing Town, subordinate to Jiayin County, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, is 32 kilometers east of Jiayin County, facing Russia across the river in the East, Luobei County in the south, wulaga town in the West and Hongguang Township in the north. The total area of the jurisdiction is 1212.12 square kilometers, and the total registered residence population is 8217 (2018).
In the late Qing Dynasty, there were gold miners in Baoxing area. In the early years of the Republic of China, Luobei county was called "Baonan town" when it was divided into administrative divisions. Guanyin Mountain is also known as Foshan town because it stands beside the river. In 1956, Baoxing township was named after Baoan and Xingnong villages which were divided into one township. In the autumn of 1958, it was renamed Baoxing people's commune. In May 1984, it was changed to Baoxing township. In 2014, Baoxing town was established instead of township. As of October 2019, Baoxing town has jurisdiction over one community and 15 administrative villages. The town government is located in Renhe village.

Name and origin
Baoxing Town, formerly known as Foshan Town, was named after Guanyin Mountain nearby, also known as Bao'an and Baonan, and later renamed Bao'an. Baoxing commune was established in 1958, named Baoxing after Baoan village and rural area.
