Taipingshan town
Taipingshan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Changling County, Songyuan City, Jilin Province, is located in the southeast of Changling County, 50 kilometers away from the county seat of Changling County and 72 kilometers away from the provincial capital Changchun City. It borders Nong'an County in the East and Southeast, Yongyong town and sanxianbao Township in the South and southwest, lifasheng Town, Haiqing Township and Guangming Township in the west, and Sanqingshan town in the north and northwest. The total administrative area is 175.16 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, in 1889, Taipingshan township was transformed into Taipingshan town. By the end of 2018, Taiping town had 27696 registered residence population. As of June 2020, Taipingshan town has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages.
At the end of 2011, Taipingshan town's total financial revenue was 30 million yuan, including local financial revenue of 1.9 million yuan and per capita financial revenue of 7128 yuan.
History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, in 1889, it belonged to Nongping society of Nongan County; in 1908, it belonged to Changling County and was changed into Changyu district.
In 1919, it was renamed the third district; in 1938, it was renamed Taipingshan village; in 1941, it was assigned to Changchun County; in 1947, it was set up the Sixth District.
In 1950, it was renamed District 3.
In 1956, Taipingshan township was established.
In 1958, it was changed into red star commune; at the end of 1958, it was changed into Taipingshan commune.
In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township.
In 1984, the township was transformed into a town.

The whole area of Taipingshan town is a shallow mound like platform with east-west trend, about 9 km wide from north to South and 19 km long from east to west. The north and south sides are grassland and low-lying land, and the middle part is shallow hilly continuous cultivated land.

The climate of Taipingshan town belongs to the mid temperate continental monsoon climate, which is characterized by four distinct seasons, severe cold in winter, no severe heat in summer, early spring, more sandstorm, cool autumn and early frost. The annual average precipitation is 440.5 mm, the annual average precipitation days are 60.2 days, the maximum is 69 days (1984), the minimum is 43 days (1995); the extreme annual maximum rainfall is 591 mm (1984), the rainfall is concentrated from July to September, and the maximum is in August.

In the northeast of Taipingshan Town, wudaoquanzigou and lalatun gully flow into Taipingshan reservoir, and in the south, dongxingou flows into sanjiaosi reservoir.

The main natural disasters in Taipingshan town are drought, insect and wind disasters, especially drought. The most serious one occurred in 1995. From the middle of June to the end of August, there was no rain for nearly 80 days, the seedlings withered, some residents' wells dried up, the drinking water for people and livestock was difficult, the economic loss was more than 10 million yuan, the year-end grain output was more than 1000 kg per hectare, and the per capita income dropped to 512 yuan.
Taipingshan reservoir in the northeast and sanjiaosi reservoir in the southwest of Taipingshan town are two medium-sized reservoirs with a total area of 261.7 hectares. Wudaoquanzi in the upper reaches of Taipingshan reservoir has constant spring water all the year round.

In the total population, the Han nationality is the dominant, accounting for 26134 people, accounting for 99%; there are six ethnic minorities, including Manchu, Hui and Korean, with a total of 264 people, accounting for 1%.
