Baxiantong town
Baxiantong Town, belonging to Naiman Banner, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the middle and north of Naiman Banner, in the basin of Laoha River and Jiaolai river. It borders Dongming town in the East, Banhua Sumu in Guri in the south, baiyintalashu in the west, and baiyintaohai Sumu in Wengniute Banner in Chifeng City in the north. The area is 934.15 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the population of eight immortals registered residence was 55163.
In March 1946, it was established as Baxiantong district. In September 1948, it was renamed the ninth district. In October 1958, Baxiantong commune was established. In May 1983, the commune was transformed into a township. In December 1984, the township was transformed into a town, known as Baxiantong town. As of June 2020, Baxiantong town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 44 administrative villages.
By the end of 2018, Baxiantong town had 15 industrial enterprises and 209 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
The Republic of China belongs to the six Inner Mongolia regions of Naiman Banner. During the period of northeast occupation, it was successively under the jurisdiction of Haoqin Sumu village and Baxiantong village.
In 1930, the town was located in Suidong County, Rehe province.
In 1935, it was the seat of Naiman Banner office in Anxi province.
In March 1946, it was established as Baxiantong district.
In September 1948, it was renamed the ninth district.
In August 1956, Baxiantong town was established.
In October 1958, Baxiantong commune was established.
In May 1983, the commune was transformed into a township.
In December 1984, the township was transformed into a town, known as Baxiantong town.
In June 2006, yamen yingzi Sumu, Tule entala Sumu and Ping'an town were designated as Baxiantong town.

natural disaster
The main natural disasters in Baxiantong town are wind, drought, flood, hail and so on. Storm disasters occurred twice a year, mainly from August to September. The most serious one occurred on August 9 and 24, 2008, which affected 105700 mu of crops. Among them, 103900 mu of corn in the mature stage was broken, and the area of no harvest was 39800 mu. The gale cut off 20 high-voltage poles, damaged one transformer and collapsed 13 houses, resulting in a direct economic loss of 69.58 million yuan. Frost disaster occurs once a year, mainly from September to October, and the most serious occurred on September 8, 2006. Six Sumu towns, including Baxiantong Town, suffered early frost disaster. The lowest air temperature was - 1 ℃, and the thickness of ice was 5mm. The affected area of crops was 5513000 mu, and the area of no harvest was 54100 mu. At the end of 2011, the underground mineral deposits in Baxiantong town were proved to be placer and black clay. Among them, natural silica sand can produce fracturing sand, molding sand and silica sand, with a total reserve of 3 billion tons. The highest average chemical grade of silica is 93.1%, the refractoriness is 1690 ℃ and the sintering point is 1400 ℃. It is mainly distributed in the sandy areas of central and Western China. There are also black clay mines in the territory, which are mainly used for brick making, with an annual output of 18 million red bricks. The groundwater resources are rich. The runoff trend is from southwest to northeast.
