Wood City Town, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province, is located in the western part of Chaoyang County, south of the city is linked to Shengli Township, northwest and Ulan River, the Mongolian Township, across the river, North and East Avenue Township across the river, northeast and Taiwan Township, adjacent to the jurisdiction, the largest distance of 15 kilometers, the largest distance of 40 kilometers north and south, the area of 129.97 square kilometers, as of 2018, the registered residence population of 27824 people.

In the spring of 1983, the township changed into a town with 15 villages under its jurisdiction. In 2003, Xiaogou village and zhaoshanzui village were merged into zhaoshanzui village. As of June 2020, mucchengzi town has jurisdiction over one community and 13 administrative villages.

Historical evolution
During the period of the Republic of China, a village appointment and patrol police station was established, which governed mantouyingzi commune and 45 communes of Taizi, mucuchengzi, Shengli and dongjiadian to the west of duguanyingzi.
During the period of Puppet Manchuria, village offices were established.
In January 1946, Meileyingzi district government of Chaonan county was established, under the jurisdiction of mucochengzi.
In the autumn of 1947, Chaoyang was liberated. The district government was established in the winter of the same year.
In 1949, Chaonan county was abolished, and muchengzi was under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang County.
In 1951, the town of muchengzi was built. A mutual aid group was set up in the same year.

In 1965, the whole county merged into districts to build townships. Meileyingzi district and mucochengzi District merged into a mucochengzi District, with 12 townships under its jurisdiction and 4 townships within its territory.
In 1958, four townships were merged into mucochengzi township. In October of the same year, mutuchengzi township was changed into Gongxing commune, which was stationed in mutuchengzi.
At the beginning of 1960, Taizi, mantouyingzi and mutuchengzi merged into mutuchengzi commune.
In the spring of 1961, Taizi and mantouyingzi were separated, and the mumuchengzi commune increased from the original 5 production brigades to 14 production brigades.
In 1973, the yaozhangzi group was divided into 15 villages under the jurisdiction of mucochengzi commune.
In the spring of 1983, the township changed into a town with 15 villages under its jurisdiction.
In 2003, Xiaogou village and zhaoshanzui village were merged into zhaoshanzui village.
