History of construction
In the Ming Dynasty, Yingchengzi Township belonged to zhenyuanbao.
In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Guangning County (now Beizhen).
In 1813, it belonged to Xinmin hall.
In 1902, it belonged to Zhen'an County.
In 1921, it belonged to five districts of Heishan County.
In 1932, the village belonged to Heishan County, Jinzhou province.
In 1945, after the end of the Anti Japanese War, it belonged to six districts of Heishan County.
In 1946, the Kuomintang occupied Heishan. Yingchengzi was located in changlingzi village.
On January 26, 1948, Yingchengzi was liberated, belonging to the seventh district of Heishan County.
In January 1956, Xinxing township was built and located in Yingchengzi village.
In March 1958, Xinxing township was merged into xiaosanjiazi township.
In March 1962, Yingchengzi commune was established.
In September 1983, Yingchengzi commune was changed to township.
On December 30, 2001, Liuhe Township was merged into Yingchengzi township.

The main natural disasters in Yingchengzi township are earthquake, drought and flood. There were two earthquakes in the area, one was the 7.3 earthquake with Haicheng as the epicenter on February 4, 1975, which affected the township; the other was the Tangshan earthquake on July 28, 1976, which affected the township.
