Guangmingshan Town, belonging to Zhuanghe City, Dalian, Liaoning Province, is located in the south of the east side of Liaodong Peninsula and the west suburb of Zhuanghe City. It is adjacent to Dazheng town in the south, Changling town and Chengshan town in the west, and Huashan Town in taipingling Township in the north. Its total area is 239.31 square kilometers. Guangming mountain town is named because there is a Guangming mountain in the center of the town. On December 9, 1984, Guangmingshan township was transformed into a town, with jurisdiction over 11 villages and 1 village level residents committee. On January 3, 2000, Pingshan township was merged into Guangmingshan Town, which governs 20 villages. In January 2003, the village scale was adjusted to 13 villages. As of June 2020, Guangmingshan town has a total of 13 administrative villages.

Guangmingshan town was formerly known as the rich man's house town. In 1961, it was renamed Guangming mountain township.
During the cultural revolution, it was renamed Taiyangsheng township. It was renamed on August 20, 1973.
On December 9, 1984, Guangmingshan township was transformed into a town, with jurisdiction over 11 villages and 1 village level residents committee.

The South tributary originates from Zhongyin and Xiayin in Qiaotun village, flows into Guishan Lake in Zhuanghe City through Qiaodian, Xiaoying and Lvsheng streets, and converges into the Yellow Sea.
