History of construction
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Mazhuang village, Hongqu district.
In 1952, Mazhuang village was changed into Mazhuang Street residents committee.
In 1954, it was transferred to Tiexi District, and Mazhuang street was established, under which 18 residents committees were set up.
In October 1958, Mazhuang street was changed into Mazhuang commune.
In April 1960, the heavy industry commune was established.
In November 1978, it was restored to Chonggong street.
In 1999, there were 9 communities including Jianye, Tongxin, Shuiyuan, Zihua, Songliao, Zhaogong, shuangdian, Shengan and foundry.
