Wuqia town
Wu Qia Town, belonging to Kuche city of Akesu, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Kuche City, East is connected with the town of Wu Zun, and is connected with the south of the town of duluantan. Historical evolution
Wuqia, Uyghur, means the flat fan-shaped alluvial plain in front of the mountain pass; it gets its name because of its geographical location on the alluvial plain in front of the mountain.

In 1958, red star commune was established.
In 1959, Hongxing commune and Xingguang commune were merged into Hongqi commune, which was changed into Wuqia commune on August 15 of the same year.
In 1966, it was renamed Hongguang commune.
In 1978, Wuqia commune was restored.
In February 1984, Wuqia township was replaced by shejian township.
