Jianguo Road in Hangzhou starts from the west section of Wangjiang Road in the South and ends at Zhaohui road in the north. Qingtai street and Qingchun Road are respectively called Jianguo South Road, middle road and North Road. Zhugan lane is one of the oldest streets in Hangzhou in the Southern Song Dynasty, known as ban'er lane and baihuashesan Lane in the Ming Dynasty, and shang'er lane, Zhong'er lane and Xia'er Lane in the Qing Dynasty; xiaofenqiang Lane in the middle Song Dynasty, Chongxin Lane in the Ming Dynasty, shipailou, xiaofenqiang, jintongqiao and Pu'an Street in the Qing Dynasty; genshanmen street and Dongying street in the Northern Song Dynasty, also known as Dongjie street.

In the Republic of China, the north of Qingchun Road was called Dongjie road. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, it was named Jianguo South Road, middle road and North Road. In 1965 and 1972, Jianguo north road extended northward from genshanmen to Zhaohui road.
