Donggou Township

Donggou township is a common Township name in China. It is located in the south of guide County, 20 kilometers away from the county government. The population is 8000, mainly Tibetan, accounting for 62% of the total population. It covers an area of 269.6 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 15 village committees including zhoutun, shanglanjiao, xialanjiao, seerga, langcha, gouhouzha, douhoulou, Quanmu, Meijia, jiabucha, Kejia, xiemalang, xinjianping, Lanjiao new village and gaohongya. It was Wangtun Township in the Republic of China. In 1949, it was changed into Donggou Township, the first district. In 1958, it was transferred to guide commune. In 1959, it was transferred to Changmu commune. In 1961, Donggou commune was separated from Changmu commune. In 1984, it was changed into Donggou Township.
