Jiamian Township
Jiamian township is located in Congjiang County of Guizhou Province, bordering Huanjiang County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Libo County of Qiannan Prefecture. It is one of the 100 extremely poor townships in Guizhou Province. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages.
Brief introduction of Qingzhen
Jiamian township is located in the southwest of Congjiang County, 110 kilometers away from the county seat. It borders Zaiban town in the East, Xunle township of Huanjiang County in Guangxi Province in the south, Jiarong town of Libo County in Qiannan Prefecture in the west, Guanghui township of benxian County in the west, and Jiajiu township of benxian County in the north. The township is 900 meters above sea level, and the rest of the villages are located on the ridge of the mountain or on the Bank of the stream at an altitude of 700-1050 meters. The average annual temperature is 15.2 ℃, the average annual rainfall is 14000 mm, and the frost free period is 180 days. It mainly inhabits Miao nationality and a small number of Shui nationality. The main grain products are rice, corn and potato. Animal husbandry to raise cattle, pigs, sheep, specialty "Xiang pig". The township governs 20 administrative villages, 80 villager groups, 100 natural villages, 2074 households and 8161 people, including 124 non-agricultural population and 5413 labor force. The total land area of the township is 151.37 square kilometers, and the forest coverage rate is 48.24%. Wasteland and barren slope still account for a large proportion and need to be developed and utilized. There are 6457 mu of cultivated land, including 5550 mu of farmland and 907 mu of soil. In 2003, the per capita net income of farmers was 560 yuan, with 280 kg of grain per capita and 0.6 mu of paddy field per capita.
Infrastructure and social undertakings
Jiamian township is a newly built Township after "withdrawing, merging and constructing" in 1992. It was only in 2000 that the highway was officially built, and in 2001 the transmission line of the state grid was built. Only seven villages (dangweng, Gaoshan, Dangzhuo, biejiu, Yangda, Baibang and Zhenyou) are under construction. It is estimated that by 2005, except Jiapo and Jiashao villages, 18 villages will be open to traffic, with mobile phones and no program-controlled telephones. The school-age children's enrollment rate will be 98.5% and the drop out rate will be 1.5%. Only two villages in the township have collectives, and the rest are empty shell villages. The main income channels of farmers depend on commercial pigs, cattle, sheep and sporadic agricultural and sideline products. Now the base of hybrid cattle has been built in biejiu village.
