Dongxia town belongs to Datong County, Xining City, Qinghai Province. Located in the northeast of Datong County, it borders Huzhu Tu Autonomous County in the East, shuobei Township in the south, Hualin Township in the west, Xianghua Township in the north and Menyuan County in Haibei Prefecture. The administrative area of Dongxia town is 94.4 square kilometers. In late 2018, the population of East gorge registered residence was 16536.
