Dayang town
Dayang Town, subordinate to Yunyang County of Chongqing, is located in the northeast of Yunyang County and the North Bank of the Yangtze River. It borders Hongtu township of Fengjie County in the East, Shimen Township across Qingxi River in the southwest, shuangtu town in the northwest and Sangping town in the northeast. It is 88 kilometers away from the residence of Yunyang County Government, with a total area of 43.63 square kilometers.
Before 1949, Dayang town belonged to shuangtu township; in 2015, it was changed from Dayang township to Dayang town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Dayang town was 15903. As of June 2020, Dayang town has one community and six administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in Qingxia community.
Dayang town is the grain and oil production base of Yunyang County; the main grain crops are rice, corn and wheat; the main animal husbandry is raising cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. In 2018, there were 14 industrial enterprises and 42 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Dayang town.
History of construction
Dayang town is named for its Dayang river.
Before 1949, it belonged to shuangtu township.
In October 1953, Jiming Township and Dayang Township were set up from shuangtu township.
In December 1956, Jiming township was merged into Dayang township.
In October 1958, Dayang township was changed into Dayang commune.
In April 1984, Dayang commune was changed into Dayang township.
In September 1992, Dayang township was merged into Shimen township.
In October 1995, Dayang township was restored.
In 2015, Dayang township was changed from township to town.
