Gaoshan Township
Old town name
. The former site of Gaoshan township government is the former residence of Zheng zuomin in Gaoshan village. There is a high mountain behind the village, which is named after it. The township covers an area of 29.52 square kilometers.
It has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages and 116 villager groups in Gaoshan, shimentou, shigufeng, Dongshui, sanqianwei, Zhoujia, Chengjia, Meijia, kuangjia, Longshan, Tangxia, Hechang, Heyou, Xiugan and Hongren.
Later, the government was stationed at the tobacco Station in Gaoshan village.
Historical evolution
At the beginning of liberation, the rural areas belonged to the fourth and fifth districts. In 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. One belonged to Xinwei Township and the other to longhuisi township. In 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of Xinwei commune. In 1961, it was separated from Xinxu commune to build Gaoshan commune. In 1984, it was withdrawn to Gaoshan township. on November 20, 2015, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs (xiangminxingfa No. 54) approved to abolish the organizational system of Gaoshan Township and Taoling Township and change it to Taoling town. The original Gaoshan township of shimentou, Gaoshan, sanqianwei, Hechang, Heyou, Zhoujia, Chengjia, Xiugang eight organizational villages merged into Xinwei town; the original Gaoshan township of shigufeng, Dongshui, Meijia three organizational villages merged into Xinlong town; the original Gaoshan township of Hongren, kuangjia, Tangxia, Longshan four organizational villages merged into Taoling Town, TAOLING Town People's Government in Taoshi (the original Taoling Township People's government resident).
geographical position
Gaoshan township is located in the South East of Xintian County, 22 kilometers away from the county. It is at the junction of Shiyang Town, Xinwei Town, dapingtang Town, zhishiping Town, Xinlong town and Taoling town. There are Xinjia second-class highway and Datian highway in the village. The main river is Xintian river. It has a small type 1 reservoir and a small type 2 reservoir.
agricultural economy
The whole territory is hilly, with 9952 mu of cultivated land, including 8287 mu of paddy field, with poor water conservancy conditions. In history, it is rich in Guanggan, especially Dongshui Guanggan. Now there is a citrus farm run by the township. Its citrus is famous in the whole county, rich in high-quality rice and horseshoe. There are a small amount of iron and ore resources in the township.
