Dongwan town

Dongwan Town, belonging to Qitai County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Qitai County. It is connected with jibuku town in the East, Turpan City in Turpan area in the south, quanzijie town in Jimsar County in the West and daquantatar Township in the north. The area is 196.84 square kilometers. In 2018, 10059 people registered residence.

It belongs to the fourth district after 1950. In 1958, for the rocket commune East Bay brigade, genger brigade. In 1960, it was the second pig farm in the county. In 1961, Dongwan and genger were separated from rocket commune and Dongwan commune was established. In 1966, it was renamed Hongwei commune. In 1978, Dongwan commune was restored. In 1984, the township system was restored. In October 1999, the township was removed to build a town. In October 2019, Dongwan town governs one community and four administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 8 industrial enterprises in Dongwan town and 6 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
