Dongwan Town, under the jurisdiction of Shawan City, Tacheng Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southern mountainous area of Shawan city. It faces Manas County across Manas River in the East, 151 regiment farm in the south, xigobi town and niuquanquan ranch in the west, wulanwusu town and Shihezi City in the North, with a total administrative area of 439.63 square kilometers.

History of construction
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Xixiang of Manas County.
In 1951, it was divided into Dongdi Township and Shichang Township, belonging to Shihezi District of Shawan city.
In 1958, the two townships merged to build Xianfeng commune.
In 1978, it was renamed Dongwan commune.
In 1984, the village was changed.
In April 1995, the township was removed and the town was built.
